Aside from a bed, I’m a firm believer that the most important furniture purchase you can make is a couch. It’s where hours of TV will be watched, hundreds of books will be read, and above all where naps comfortably and naturally happen. Some apartments don’t necessarily have the room to put the dream sectional, you’ll one day put in your dream home, so these 6 sofas should provide a needed stepping stone.
1.Wayfair 74" Wide Upholstered Sleeper Sofa
This 6 foot long couch is essentially a mini sectional providing you space to kick your feet up from any spot on the sofa, as it has both additional storage and leg rests that slide out from the portion of the couch that doesn’t already extend out. Nice for having company over and movie nights. Listed at $1,450 CAD
2. Ikea PÄRUP
I am a big advocate for softer cushions on a couch for napping purposes, is it great for your back? I don’t know, but I digress. This Ikea option is a cheaper option listed at $499 CAD. It is a little longer coming in at 81″ giving you plenty of room to sprawl across.
3. Pier 1 Wesley 2 Piece L Shaped Sofa
If your area does permit for a couch just over 9 feet. This is a great do it all sofa. Entertaining, chilling, you name this option from Pier 1 is both comfy and practical, and dare I say aesthetic. Retailing for $1,425 CAD.
4. EQ3 Solo Sofa Sleeper
As always, I give you the higher end, more expensive options. However, this one combats friends who consistenly have too many pops during visits and need a place to turn naps in a solid night’s sleep. Yes that’s right! This couch is what you might call a futon. The couch itself spans just over 6 and a half feet in length and a price tag of $2,799 CAD
5. Ikea Morabo Sofa
Another option out of Ikea’s line is the Morabo which is around 8 feet in length and a sectional style once again with soft cushions and multiple color options. Retailing at $1,199.
